New BJB LED Connector for Linear LED Modules: Book 21 Compliant

Lampholders were standard in older, traditional lighting systems. Modern LED fixtures that utilize non-replaceable LEDs create several assembly and field-replacement disadvantages. Zhaga Book 21 addresses these shortcomings by standardizing linear 'socketable' LED modules. In accordance with Book 21, BJB has developed the new LED connector 47.303; a two-part fixing and electrical connection system, which enables LED modules to be installed and subsequently replaced as easily as conventional light sources. Incorporating the BJB 47.303 series results in reduced assembly costs and dramatically faster retrofit or replacement times. Read more »

Plasma Metallisation: Lumitronix Utilises Paper and PET as Printed Circuit Board

In cooperation with its technology partners, the Swabian LED company Lumitronix succeeded in equipping plasma-metallised flexible printed circuit boards with electronic components. This is based on the one-of-a-kind process of plasma metallisation. The novel technology from the field of medical engineering turns a plurality of materials into electrically conducting and solderable printed circuit boards that were not suitable for an assembly with electronic components up to this point in time. BJB's SMD Push-to-Fix (P2F) Solderable Mounting Elements for LED Boards

LED boards can be installed into luminaire housings in a variety of ways. And it's often an overlooked step in the luminaire assembly process, until something goes wrong due to faulty installation of course. The question of how best to implement this assembly process in technical terms also has considerable impact on the upstream and downstream processes - especially when taking warranty costs into consideration. With its solderable SMD-P2F fixing elements, BJB has developed a solution which makes the entire assembly process easier, faster and more cost-efficient for the entire value chain. A major advantage is that these fixing elements do not have to be attached as separate components, because they are already pre-installed to the PCB itself. BJB has developed the solderable Push-to-Fix(P2F) SMD fixing element for an especially simple and quick mounting of LED boards in luminaire housings. It is suitable for Low- and Midpower LED-Boards in linear and flat luminaires. The outstanding feature of it is the pre-attachment of the spring clip, which takes place by means of a solder plate during the SMD mounting process. Out Now: Electro Terminal's Whole Range of Microcon SMD Power Connectors

The introduction of LED lighting has revolutionized the way lighting systems are designed. Simple “metal plates with electrical components” have been replaced by sophisticated electronic devices. Electro Terminal has developed the Microcon SMD Power connector to provide direct mains voltage supply to electronic PCBs within a lighting system. This connector is only 7 mm high and facilitates easy entry of solid and flexible wires of 0.5 mm² to 2.5 mm².
